About

The mountains are calling…

And I must paint! I’m a landscape painter in Nelson, BC. I spend my summers hiking in the West Kootenay and capture my love of the local mountains with bright, colourful acrylic landscapes.

I go outside to get inspired. And I take my art supplies with me. I love hiking and summiting peaks, but I am happiest when I can settle into an alpine meadow and open my sketchbook.

Working from photographs as well as plein air sketches made along the trail, I work to develop paintings that focus on the majesty of the mountain landscapes. I use colour and shape to push the structure of the mountains towards the surreal, striving to capture the feelings of otherworldly bliss and awe that come with exploring these wild places.
