Spring comes late to the alpine – the snow doesn’t melt away until mid-July, but the spring flowers emerge fresh and bright in the meadows. This painting was inspired by a hike up Sphinx Mountain on the East Shore of Kootenay Lake. The Yellow Glacier Lily and Anemones were bright along the trail.
