I have quite few hiking books for Canada and the US, but this one is now my favourite!
I started hiking the West Kootenays last year in the 7 Summits area. Abby’s book with all its beautiful pictures has inspired me to explore this area all summer this year!

Excellent hiking guide for young, old and between age hiker, for solo, group or family. All infos that one needs to have
a great time hiking in West Kootenays - area maps, difficulty ratings, detailed hiking directions and access to hiking
trail heads by vehicles, the best time of season to hike to experience a beauty of wildflower meadows, straight, easy to follow hiking trail maps. I like added elevation profiles, all extra info for every trail needs,
cautions, good advice for parking, tenting, backpacking the best point of views and more. Downloadable GPX files and stunning photographs of every hike are priceless bonuses to this hiking guide book.
Only the experienced hiker can give not only infos on good hiking trails but excellent history of hiking areas.
The nice water resistant book covers is a great feature as well.

Abby, I really like your West Kootenay Hiking Guidebook. I brought it home and spent a good deal of time scanning and reading it from cover to caver. I explored hikes I was familiar with and read about hikes I've wanted to do for a while. I also discovered some places I wasn't aware of. It's a good mix of hikes and hike types. Now I've got to get out there and explore some of these trails. Thanks.

When someone with the artistic talent and eye for beauty that Abby has writes a guidebook — WOW. We were lucky to obtain one of her special addition books, but everyone will benefit from the great layout, stunning photos and maps that Abby has assembled.
